Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has claimed that it remains to be seen whether his side will be able to agree personal terms with Moises Caicedo.

He told journalist Shamoon Hafez that his side do not have endless resources to offer the midfielder as part of a contract offer.

Last night proved to be a truly sensational one in terms of what the future is going to look like for Caicedo.

He has been very keen to leave Brighton this summer, although it was deemed that his preference lied with joining Chelsea.

However, overnight it was the Reds who agreed a deal with the Seagulls, with the fee set to be a British transfer record.

It has seemed this whole time as if the Blues have been hesitant to make a bid for the player that Brighton would deem acceptable, and now they face a real risk of losing the player.

Klopp comments on Caicedo

Klopp has now confirmed that Liverpool have had a bid accepted for him, however personal terms are yet to be agreed.

He said: “The deal with the club is agreed and then the agreement with the player we will see.

“We don’t have endless resources; we didn’t see a couple of things happening in the summer.”

If Chelsea do miss out on Caicedo, it is likely that they make a move instead to bring in Romeo Lavia from Southampton.

They had a bid rejected for his services a couple of days ago, however it was reported to be very close to the asking price that Southampton have set for the player.
