Journalist Nathan Gissing has claimed on Twitter that Wesley Fofana is just over a week away from returning to first team training with Chelsea.
The Frenchman has had his first season since moving to Stamford Bridge ruined by injury in a similar vein to how the end of his Leicester career played out.
Things looked set to skyrocket for Fofana during his first game under new manager Graham Potter. He scored the opener in a crucial Champions League group match against AC Milan.

However, his game was over even before half-time, as he was forced off the pitch with what seemed a serious knee problem.
He has not been seen again for the Chelsea first team after suffering a setback in a behind closed doors friendly against Brentford.
The 22-year-old has been one of many players who Potter has been unable to select in recent weeks, ultimately leading to what’s been a serious drop in form.
Fofana injury return date
Reece James, Ben Chilwell, and N’golo Kante have all suffered long-term problems, with the trio being arguably the most important players in the squad.
There will be encouragement that the wing-back pair have returned to training ahead of the game against Liverpool. Now, Gissing has issued an update as to when Fofana will be able to join them in the next step on his way to recovery.

He said: “Wesley Fofana injury update: Fofana is expected to return to full training with Chelsea in around 10 days.”
With Kalidou Koulibaly in particular not impressing in the majority of games he’s played this season, another option for a centre-back would be more than welcome for the Blues.
That said, they have already seen Benoit Badiashile in action, with Fofana’s countryman imprssing in his debut against Crystal Palace.
