Chelsea prospect Shumaira Mheuka is extremely techinical

Shumaira Mheuka, who only turned 17 last month, is a very exciting youngster on Chelsea’s books.

The teenage attacker has been impressing for the Blues Under-21s team this term, which led to him being placed on the first-team bench for a European game. He’s still waiting to make his senior debut, though.

According to The Daily Mail, Chelsea insiders claim that Mheuka has been working on the technical side of his game to help him move through the age ranks at the club with relative ease.

It is explained that the English youngster was ‘pleasantly surprised’ when he was promoted to the Blues U21s this season, where he’s already become a regular starter.

The report adds that Mheuka has never complained when being asked to sometimes play out of position as a No.10. However, his best position that he prefers playing in is the central striker role.

Scouts think Mheuka is ready for first-team football already, so it’ll be interesting to see what Chelsea do with his development path.

Could Shumaira Mheuka make senior debut on Thursday?

The Blues host Armenian club FC Noah on Thursday night as they continue their campaign in the Conference League group stages.

On paper, it’s the type of game where first-team manager Enzo Maresca may be tempted to include some youngsters.

Mheuka has trained with Chelsea’s senior squad this week ahead of the Noah match. He’s been joined by fellow academy players Tyrique George, Ato Ampah and Sam Rak-Sakyi as well.
