The academy system at Chelsea has built a serious reputation for creating players who go on to have great careers.

You only need to look at who the captain of the first team is right now, with Reece James being a product of the illustrious Cobham setup.

There is reportedly doubt coming from the academy at the moment that there is not a clear pathway to the first team setup right now.

This perhaps explains why the club lost one of their brightest talents over the summer, with Rio Ngumoha making the move to Liverpool after electing not to sign a new contract.

However, it looks as if they have found another seriously promising talent in the form of Shim Mheuka.

16-year-old Shim Mheuka ready for Chelsea first team

The 16-year-old has already appeared for the U21s, and The Secret Scout has claimed that he already has the ability to feature for the first team.

When asked, he replied: “Yep he’s ready. Matter of time.”

Chelsea fans were left in awe of Mheuka after seeing him in action earlier this season, and things are certainly looking very positive for the striker.

The Blues are expected to take an even younger approach to their first team from as soon as next season, with two seriously talented youngsters set to join up with the squad.

Estevao Willian and Kendry Paez to join Chelsea next summer

Both Estevao Willian and Kendry Paez are set to join at that stage, with them both showing great promise in the early stages of their career.

Paez is already a regular for the Ecuador national team alongside Moises Caicedo, while Estevao is being tipped to be one of the best players Brazil will ever produce when he fulfils his potential.

The Blues would do well to not forget about the conveyer belt of talent they already have at their disposal at home, with Mheuka seeming to be at the top of that list.
