Even though Alejandro Garnacho has been heavily linked with a potential move to Chelsea this month, he’s continued to play for current club Manchester United.
Man Utd winger Alejandro Garnacho, 20, has received several links to Chelsea during the January transfer window. With just a few days left before the deadline, he’s still currently a player at Old Trafford.
Chelsea have until Friday to bid for Garnacho as Man Utd will demand they’re given enough time to find a replacement in this window, which closes on 3 February.
Man Utd value Garnacho as high as £80m, which could end up blocking any move to suitors Chelsea.

Alejandro Garnacho impresses for Manchester United last night
Man Utd advanced straight to the Europa League last 16 after a 2-0 away victory against FCSB on Thursday night.
Interestingly, Garnacho entered the action as a half-time substitute when the contest was goalless. The skilful wide player made a huge contribution for the Premier League side with his directness, plus his assist for the second goal.
| Minutes played | Goals | Assists | Total shots | Chances created | Successful dribbles | Was fouled | Match rating |
| 45 | 0 | 1 | 2 | 2 | 5 | 4 | 8.1 |
Man Utd manager Ruben Amorim doesn’t want to lose Garnacho, which is no surprise because the youngster’s a key figure in the squad. The Argentine attacker now has eight goals and six assists across all competitions so far this season.
In last night’s Europa League performance, there’s one statistic that massively stands out, especially when you compare it to Chelsea’s Noni Madueke.

Alejandro Garnacho equals what Chelsea’s Noni Madueke has done in his last three matches
As shown above, Man Utd wide man Garnacho successfully completed five dribbles in only 45 minutes on the pitch.
When you look at the Chelsea wingers, Madueke is the one you think of as the most direct and the biggest dribbler. Therefore, it’s interesting to see the 22-year-old Blues star has five successful dribbles in his last three appearances.
| Fixture | Minutes played | Successful dribbles |
| Manchester City 3-1 Chelsea | 90 | 2 |
| Chelsea 3-1 Wolverhampton Wanderers | 84 | 1 |
| Chelsea 2-2 Bournemouth | 81 | 2 |
It highlights perhaps a lack of form and impact from Chelsea right-winger Madueke in his last few matches. At the same time, it’s remarkable to see just how impactful Garnacho can be when he’s on the pitch.
We’re not behind the idea of splashing the cash on Man Utd wonderkid Garnacho, especially if it’s anywhere near the quoted £80m price tag, but we understand why the club admire his profile.
