The Chelsea squad yesterday finally had it confirmed to them who would be the next manager at Stamford Bridge.
Enzo Maresca has been announced as the new head coach for the upcoming season, with the length of his contract signalling there is plenty of belief in him to succeed.
He replaces Mauricio Pochettino, who was no doubt a popular figure amongst the players who were beginning to repay his faith in them towards the end of the season.

Due to the obvious close nature of the Argentine and his players, there was perhaps suspicion that the latest managerial casualty in West London could be a step too far for the players.
A handful of the current first time have experience with Maresca, with one of those being recent England goalscorer Cole Palmer.
Cole Palmer talking positive of Enzo Maresca
According to Simon Phillips on his Substack, the former Manchester City man has spoken highly of the Italian to the rest of his teammates already.
He said: “The players were perhaps a bit confused by the way it all ended with Pochettino, but I’ve heard from sources close to a number of the players this week that there is some excitement starting to build around Maresca and what he can bring, and many believe they can thrive under his style of play.
“The fact that Maresca has worked directly with Romeo Lavia, Cole Palmer, and Cesare Casadei before has certainly helped, with all three players speaking VERY highly of Maresca, and that has been passed through the player ranks at the club.”
Palmer pushing for England starting place
Palmer is obviously going to be key to any success Chelsea have next season, off the back of his superb debut campaign at his new club.
His individual focus will right now be on international duty, and hopefully featuring for his country at the upcoming European Championships.
Peter Crouch has already stated that he would name the 22-year-old in his starting side for the international tournament, and he staked his claim last night with a top performance in a friendly victory.
