After arriving at Chelsea, Dastan Satpayev filled Kazakhstan assistant coach Eldos Akhmetov in on how his first day went.

Following an emotional farewell from FC Kairat, Kazakh teenager Dastan Satpayev is now at Cobham ahead of officially joining Chelsea when he’s 18.

The 17-year-old, who signed a pre-contract agreement last year for a national record fee, will formally integrate into the Chelsea setup this summer. To ensure his talent transitions seamlessly to European football, the Blues plan to closely monitor his initial adaptation in London.

But ultimately, the decision on him this summer will be down to Xabi Alonso.

Who will be a bigger success – Enzo Maresca or Xabi Alonso? 🤔

City have confirmed Maresca will replace Guardiola.

Dastan Satpayev awaits Xabi Alonso’s arrival

The assistant coach of the Kazakhstan national team, Eldos Akhmetov, has already spoken to Dastan Satpayev after his first day at Chelsea.

He had this to say.

“Today I spoke with Dastan Satpaev. He has already checked into the club’s training base in Cobham. Head coach Xabi Alonso has not yet started work, but Dastan is really looking forward to meeting him.”

And Xabi Alonso’s arrival at Cobham happens to be today, July 1st.

When will Dastan Satpayev make his Chelsea debut?

Chelsea are preparing for a global pre-season schedule ahead of the 2026–27 campaign, mapping out a demanding tour across Australia and Asia to build fitness under Xabi Alonso.

The Blues kick off their exhibition schedule on July 28 in Sydney, facing the Western Sydney Wanderers at Accor Stadium. Staying in Australia, they will contest an intense London derby on foreign soil against Tottenham Hotspur at the same venue on August 1.

Following the Australian leg, the squad jets off to Hong Kong for a clash against Juventus on August 5 at Kai Tak Stadium.

Then it’s the humidity of Indonesia, where Chelsea line up against AC Milan in Jakarta on August 8.

And Alonso’s side will wrap up their summer travels just one day later on August 9, concluding the multi-nation tour against Malaysian club Johor Darul Ta’zim.
