What Enzo Maresca is already ‘loving’ about Jadon Sancho in Chelsea training

New Chelsea signing Jadon Sancho appears to be impressing his manager Enzo Maresca in training.

Jadon Sancho was Chelsea‘s final signing of the summer transfer window, with the winger joining from Manchester United on deadline day.

He did not sign for the Blues in time to play against Crystal Palace last weekend, but Enzo Maresca wished he had Sancho available for that match.

Chelsea drew 1-1, struggling to break down a resilient Palace side. Next up for Maresca‘s men is a trip to the Vitality Stadium to take on Bournemouth.

It looks like there is a good chance of Sancho making his Chelsea debut against Bournemouth.

With most of the Chelsea squad currently on international duty, the 24-year-old is getting the opportunity to impress Maresca right now.

According to journalist Simon Phillips, the Italian is loving the attitude and energy he is seeing from the wide man at present.

On his Substack, he wrote: “SPTC sources have heard that Maresca and his staff are loving Sancho in training and he has really impressed them all with his quality, and his attitude and energy.”

Former Arsenal midfielder Adrian Clarke thinks Sancho and Maresca could work well together.

Jadon Sancho has advantage over other Chelsea attackers

Getting into Chelsea’s forward line will not be an easy task for Sancho this season. Maresca has the likes of Pedro Neto, Joao Felix and Noni Madueke to choose from.

However, all three of those players are away with their national teams, while Sancho is still at Cobham.

It means Maresca can have a close look at him during this international break, and if the former Borussia Dortmund star can continue to impress, then it could put him in line to start against Bournemouth next Saturday.

He definitely has a bit of an advantage over some of his teammates, then, ahead of the Blues’ trip to the Vitality Stadium.

All in all, Maresca is blessed with attacking talent, perhaps even too much. However, it is a good problem to have, with Sancho adding to the pool that the new Chelsea manager can choose from.
