While Chelsea returned to winning ways in the Premier League at the weekend, they certainly made the game harder for themselves than it perhaps needed to be.
The Blues were 2-1 victors over Newcastle United, however the feeling inside Stamford Bridge from both the home players and supporters alike was one of relief that they got over the line.
Cole Palmer’s heroics for both goals were ultimately the difference between the two sides, as Chelsea moved back in touching distance of the top four of the table.

The Blues put themselves under pressure a number of times off their own doing, with Robert Sanchez’s passing radar a bit off particularly in the first half.
Enzo Maresca kept encouraging Robert Sanchez during Chelsea vs Newcastle
The crowd were beginning to get restless that they were giving the ball away in their own final third, however manager Enzo Maresca seemed to be pleased with what he was seeing.
The boss has given his backing to Sanchez despite some tough moments in recent weeks, and this was no different during the game on Sunday.
According to London World, Maresca was frequently interacting with his goalkeeper to encourage him to continue playing the way he wants them to.
Sanchez again made a number of big saves at Stamford Bridge, although that was not always mentioned at the top of the list of positives from the weekend.
Should Enzo Maresca drop Robert Sanchez?
Chelsea signed Filip Jorgensen over the summer, however he is yet to feature in the Premier League since his move from La Liga.
His minutes have been limited to cup football, with him likely to start again when the Blues are in action against the same opponents as Sunday in the Carabao Cup tomorrow night.
It feels as if the number one shirt is really up for the taking at the minute, and a continuation of his promising start with the club could leave the manager with a big decision to make in the coming weeks.
