Journalist Simon Johnson has claimed that Mauricio Pochettino was already incensed moments before Aston Villa took the lead against Chelsea today.
He took to Twitter to state that the manager had kicked the air in frustration at another missed chance for Chelsea, before their opponents went up the other end and found the net.
It was the same old story as far as Chelsea and Pochettino are concerned today as the Blues were defeated again at Stamford Bridge.
An Ollie Watkins goal in the second half was the difference between the two sides, and their misery was already well underway before that ball hit the net.
Malo Gusto, who up until now had impressed in the absence of Reece James, picked up a red card to leave them an uphill battle in the second half.
Pochettino furious
Despite the man disadvantage, the Blues were still creating chances before Watkins found the net, and the latest before that had been a great Ben Chilwell cross that no one got on the end of.
Johnson has claimed that the manager was extremely animated just as everyone’s worst fears in West London were about to be realised.
He said: “Pochettino does an air-shot in anger as he sees no Chelsea player in the right position to convert Chilwell’s cross…and now #AVFC break and Watkins scores. 1-0.”
The issues at Stamford Bridge are deep rooted right now, and the feeling around the place is at an all-time low.
All they can try and do now is look ahead to the next Premier League game, which takes place in just over a week’s time against Fulham.
However, the feeling right now is a big worry and something Pochettino must turnaround instantly.
