Mauricio Pochettino hosted a barbecue on his first day at work for all of Chelsea’s staff.

That is according to The Telegraph.

They claim that Chelsea’s new head coach has moved quickly to try build a new culture around Stamford Bridge, which started with a staff barbecue on Monday.

It is understood that Blues staff – football and non-football – were invited to Monday’s social event.

It was a great opportunity for those at the club to get to know Mauricio Pochettino, along with the backroom staff that has joined him in West London.

The report shares that one staff member described it as a “very relaxed” event.

Let’s hope the Chelsea players take a liking to Pochettino in a similar way to the staff.

We’ve heard a lot of positive stories regarding the Argentine boss, who’s clearly a great man-manager and someone the Blues supporters can really grow to love.

It’s obvious from his time across London at Tottenham he’s a top professional, who just needed a sprinkle of magic dust to achieve goals on the pitch.

However, from the outside looking in, the environment at Spurs under Pochettino was booming for many years.

We can’t wait to see the kind of place Cobham becomes during his tenure.

The Telegraph previously explained that Pochettino will get to work with his Chelsea squad during pre-season with a focus on improving their strength and fitness.

If everybody buys into the South American’s ideas, both supporters and players, we’re very excited about what the future can bring.

It’s perhaps worth remembering that there is a significant job on to close the gap to Premier League rivals in the new season.
