Reports have claimed that Mauricio Pochettino now has a clear idea of the kind of player he wants to sign for Chelsea.
According to The Independent, the manager is only wanting players to come in that fit in directly with his tactics.
It has been claimed recently that Pochettino now has complete control of the incomings at Stamford Bridge, a reward for his strong start to life in West London.
While it is likely nearly every signing of this summer was given the all-clear by the boss, this has certainly not been the case for other managers who have overseen transfer windows since Todd Boehly was running things.
Graham Potter in particular seemed to get no say in the players who came in as they completely rejuvenated their squad during the January transfer window.
It is hard to imagine the manager wanted to bring in all of Noni Madueke, Mykhailo Mudryk, Joao Felix and Enzo Fernandez, when taking into account only three of them could be registered in the Champions League squad.
However, it looks set to be all different this season, with Pochettino reportedly in charge of all things signings at the club, flanked by the experts on the board.
When watching the club this season, it is hard to argue that they don’t still need to find a recognised goalscorer to play up front at Stamford Bridge.
It has been claimed that the Blues are interested in a deal for Brentford striker Ivan Toney, who looks set to be on the move following his return to action in January.
Reports have also suggested that Chelsea could try and beat their rivals to a potential deal by making their move during the winter transfer window, rather than waiting until the end of the season.
