Malo Gusto played a huge role in Chelsea’s equaliser against Newcastle United last night, but he may have to give some credit to Mauricio Pochettino.
It was Malo Gusto‘s ball into the box that eventually found its way to Mykhailo Mudryk after a mistake from Kieran Trippier, with the winger eventually going on to slot the ball home to make the score 1-1 and send the game to penalties.
However, according to football.london, it was Mauricio Pochettino who instructed Gusto to stay on the right flank instead of venturing off elsewhere just before the right-back put in his cross.
That instruction made all the difference and probably prevented Chelsea from being knocked out of the Carabao Cup.
The Blues now face the prospect of playing Fulham, Middlesbrough, Liverpool or West Ham United in the semi-finals. Liverpool take on West Ham United later tonight with a place in the next round at stake.

Mauricio Pochettino has to start Malo Gusto
Gusto has had a couple of injury problems recently, but now that he is fit again, Pochettino has to start him.
Reece James and Marc Cucurella are both currently out because of their own fitness issues, so now is the time to call upon Gusto.
Axel Disasi has been playing at right-back of late, but he is a central defender. He cannot move, cross and attack like a natural full-back, such as his French team-mate.
Pochettino would be making his side a much weaker outfit going forward by starting Disasi over Gusto, who has shown that he can bring a threat to the final third.
In the coming weeks, then, Gusto could become quite a big player for Chelsea. James is going to be out for a while, with journalist Fabrizio Romano claiming that the club are really worried about his latest hamstring injury.
