What Romelu Lukaku did last night in the Champions League will continue to annoy Chelsea supporters – opinion

Romelu Lukaku certainly didn’t make many friends during his one season back at Chelsea last year.

The Belgian got off to a hot start back with the Blues, however things quickly turned into a nightmare both on and off the pitch.

He made comments suggesting that he wants to return to Inter Milan just months after leaving the club. This ultimately led to a decrease in minutes in the second half of the campaign.

What followed was a tedious summer transfer window where he near enough forced his way out of the club, although Inter were only able to secure a loan for him.

Things had not got off to the best of starts, with the club disappointed at the physical condition they found him in. He has also been struggling for starts ahead of Lautaro Martinez and Edin Dzeko.

However, he will be hoping he has kick-started his second spell with the Serie A side with a goal last night in the Champions League.

The win against Viktoria Plzen saw the Nerazzurri qualify for the knockout stage of the competition, dumping Barcelona out in the process.

However, Blues fans will certainly not be happy with how he celebrated his goal – the fourth in a 4-0 win.

The Belgium international kissed the badge of the Serie A club, despite only being there on a temporary basis for now.

While there is no expectation he will ever play at Stamford Bridge again, supporters will be annoyed at a lack of respect being shown to the club who made him their record signing.

The fact that he has pulled the celebration out at every club he has played for over the last few seasons shows a distinct lack of loyalty, something you can just not expect from Lukaku.
