Chelsea will have been thrilled to see Strasbourg loanee Kendry Paez for the first time in European football during their victory over Paris FC.
They won 3-2 in the Ligue 1 clash, with Strasbourg’s Chelsea stars playing a starring role in the victory for Liam Rosenior’s side.
The Ecuadorian’s first half header was his first goal for his loan club, and Paez copied Joao Pedro’s celebration to mark the occasion.
It has been a slow start on paper for the wonderkid, who has had to wait some time to make himself a somewhat regular in the side.

Chelsea loanee Kendry Paez impressing behind the scenes at Strasbourg
However, things are starting to look more positive off the pitch, and The Chelsea Chronicle have been told that this has been a direct result of his work off it.
Insider Graeme Bailey told us that Paez has come on leaps and bounds since pre-season, and has really impressed those at Strasbourg so far.
He said: “I’m told that Paez he’s come on leaps and bounds since the pre-season. He’s really knuckled down and adapted to the Rosenior system, because I am told the Rosenior system is not easy to play and so the players can take time to adapt to it but once they get it they get it like Emegha, they get it.
“That’s why the success has come but I think, Paez, I’m told has really impressed from the start of the season and it’s fair to say there was a few little worries about him within BlueCo, as they knew they had a huge talent but they’re a bit worried by the way he hadn’t settled but with the South Americans in the Strasbourg squad, I think he’s really getting on top of his game now.”

Chelsea fans’ thoughts on Kendry Paez
Chelsea fans have been impressed with Paez in his Strasbourg appearances so far, however some believe he shouldn’t even have been there in the first place.
It became clear that the Blues felt that they needed another central attacking option in the final days of the transfer window, and they ended up signing Facundo Buonanotte on loan from Brighton.
Blues supporters questioned why Paez was even loaned out, when he could have been handed those opportunities at Stamford Bridge this season instead.
Buonanotte has made a start for Chelsea since joining, and will likely be named in the side who take on Lincoln in the EFL Cup.
