It was a memorable 2023 for Cole Palmer because it’s the year he left Manchester City and joined Chelsea.
In terms of 2024, the Chelsea superstar has only gone from strength to strength this calendar year, slowly becoming a global name.
Cole Palmer, 22, now has so much responsibility on his young shoulders as the talisman in the Blues squad. There’s also no doubt he’s the outstanding individual at Stamford Bridge, even in such an expensively assembled group.
Levi Colwill claims Chelsea teammate Palmer is “technically outstanding”, which comes across whenever you watch him on the football pitch. His attacking output with goals and assists is exceptional, too.

Palmer was exceptional last season in Chelsea colours under Mauricio Pochettino’s management, particularly in the second half of it when he really settled to life in west London. Most importantly, he’s managed to continue his momentum into the current 2024/25 campaign.
The left-footed playmaker, who’s thriving in a No.10 position, is such a key player in the current system for Blues boss Enzo Maresca.
Palmer admits he’s searching for more space in Maresca’s team as the young talent keeps looking for ways to improve.

On top of his success in cup competitions for both club and country, Palmer has dazzled in the Premier League during 2024 to become one of the division’s very best players.

John Obi Mikel still wants more from Chelsea star Palmer when it comes to what he does in the biggest games. In fairness, he’s failed to score or assist in four games against traditional top six Premier League clubs in the top flight this season.
