Cesc Fabregas is one manager who is currently being linked with the Chelsea job following the sacking of Liam Rosenior.

Fabregas is managing Serie A side Como right now and is doing amazingly well with them.

He helped them earn promotion from Serie B and could qualify for the Champions League this term. Como sit in sixth place in the table, just five points behind fourth-placed Juventus.

Cesc Fabregas holds shares in Como

Fabregas was recently asked about the Chelsea links and did not exactly rule out a return to west London.

However, as per BBC Sport, the 38-year-old holds shares in Como. As a result, a move to Chelsea will not be straightforward, their report says.

According to the same outlet, Como qualifying for the Champions League could also complicate matters.

Fabregas is not the only Spaniard who has been linked with the Chelsea job. There has also been plenty of speculation involving Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola and Xabi Alonso.

Iraola is leaving Bournemouth at the end of the season, while Alonso is already without a job after being sacked by Real Madrid in January.

It was recently claimed that Iraola is keeping all options on the table, which is good news for Chelsea. Edin Terzic’s expected arrival at Athletic Club is also a boost for the Blues, with Iraola’s former club no longer a possible destination for him.

Why Cesc Fabregas should be at the top of Chelsea’s shortlist

Fabregas is clearly a very talented coach. You have to be to help take a team from Serie B to the top six of Serie A.

He is a modern-day manager who wants his side to retain possession, press high and attack, while the Spaniard has also been in the Chelsea dressing room before and knows what it takes to win.

Still looks a bit young 🤔

How Chelsea could line up under Cesc Fabregas

Ideally, Chelsea should be looking for a more experienced name, and from Fabregas’ perspective, it would be a huge risk to leave the stability of Como for the chaos of Chelsea.

But looking at the full picture, this move would still make a lot of sense, especially for Chelsea given the lack of options out there. Therefore, he should be one of the leading candidates for the job.
