Enzo Fernandez remains insistent on leaving Chelsea and joining Real Madrid this summer, however the Blues remain relaxed regarding his future.
Fernandez is currently representing Argentina at the World Cup, and likely trying not to focus on the precarious position his club career sits in.
The midfielder has set his stall out for months now that he wants to join Madrid, and he has been in contact with Marc Cucurella after the defender secured his own switch to the Bernabeu.

Chelsea relaxed about Enzo Fernandez to Real Madrid rumours
The move for the Spain defender accelerated quickly, although the price Chelsea are demanding for Fernandez is going to mean this saga will drag on much longer.
Ben Jacobs has stated that the Blues are actually very relaxed about the situation, after Florentino Perez made it clear during the presidential elections that he had big money to spend on a superstar player.

He told London is Blue: “My info from Real sources is they do plan to engage with Chelsea and ultimately explore this deal. And the thing that’s changed in the last few weeks is that Real have gone from several midfielders, and they might add more than one, although Bernardo Silva has already arrived.
“They like Rodri, and let’s see, there still might be the possibility to add him, because talks with Man City over extending, having at the time of recording, led to a breakthrough. And Enzo Fernández, but it’s always skewed towards Enzo Fernández in the media, because Enzo Fernández wants Real. And what we’ve been waiting for is do Real want Enzo Fernández?
“And now Jose Mourinho’s input is he wants Enzo Fernández. But there are hurdles. Chelsea’s asking price, 120 million. So we’re not talking about book break even, which is roughly 80 million. We’re talking about close to a British transfer record and actually more than the original 106 million pound fee.
“And the challenge that Real Madrid have is that Florentino Perez said when campaigning for the election, he’s going to sign a superstar for 150 million euros, which is actually 130 million pounds.

“Subsequently, Real issued a statement that was challenged by Atlético Madrid. But if we take the statement at face value, Real Madrid said they bid 150 million euros for Julian Alvarez. So now if they come in the market for Enzo Fernandez, Chelsea are going to point to that statement and Florentino Perez public comments and say, we know you’ve got 150 million euros to spend.
“And this is why Chelsea remain quite relaxed about the situation, because they feel like if Enzo Fernandez goes, it will be for incredible money. And if he doesn’t, of course, they would prefer their vice captain to stay at the football club.”

Xabi Alonso’s stance on Enzo Fernandez
Chelsea are looking to back new manager Xabi Alonso this summer, and have already been doing so with the deal confirmed for Marco Palestra.
Before the season ended, it was reported that Alonso wanted to keep Fernandez, although was aware that he had his heart set on the move to Spain.
The boss is already looking for solutions for if he does depart, including making Reece James a regular in the heart of midfield.
The Blues skipper is now an injury scare after two 90 minute appearances in a row for England, and the workload of being an attacking full-back may now sadly be out of his realms.
