Chelsea youngster Samuel Rak-Sakyi will now miss out on the chance to make his fifth senior appearance of the season.
Samuel Rak-Sakyi, 19, is one of the extremely talented youngsters coming through the Chelsea academy right now.
The midfield star’s been playing in the Blues Under-21s side this campaign, plus he’s made four first-team appearances during the club’s Conference League group phase.
Enzo Maresca’s side host League Two outfit Morecambe on Saturday afternoon in the third round of the FA Cup.
Rak-Sakyi was in Chelsea’s predicted line-up versus Morecambe, but some early teams news just hours before kick-off has wrecked the chances of the teenager featuring.

Samuel Rak-Sakyi ruled out of Chelsea vs Morecambe tie
Journalist Nizaar Kinsella has claimed via X that Chelsea prospect Rak-Sakyi is absent from the Blues squad against Morecambe because of food poisoning.
Interestingly, the defensive midfielder is linked with a loan move away from Stamford Bridge, so perhaps his absence isn’t all bad because he’ll avoid the risk of an injury in freezing conditions.
Coventry City have expressed interest in loaning Chelsea’s Rak-Sakyi, who was expected to be involved versus Morecambe. Let’s wait and see if the Blues academy graduate does end up moving in this transfer window to work under Frank Lampard’s management.
With Rak-Sakyi absent in the FA Cup, we’d love to see 18-year-old Chelsea youngster Kiano Dyer get just his second senior appearance. Chelsea prospect Dyer should play against Morecambe because they’re at risk of losing him.

Enzo Maresca is promoting youth
It’s been superb to see that Chelsea head coach Maresca isn’t overlooking the academy this season, even though his first-team squad is already quite stacked.
It was a major boost for the academy to see both Josh Acheampong and Tyrique George promoted to the senior squad recently on a permanent basis.
Like always, there’s still so much talent coming through the youth system on a yearly basis. Rak-Sakyi could well end up being the next big star off the production line, and sending him to Coventry for the second half of the season could be significant in his development.
