The World Cup is officially underway, and will no doubt be used as a platform for Chelsea scouts to come to a verdict on potential transfer targets.
The Blues have plenty of their own squad representing their countries who will be confident they can win the trophy, including Enzo Fernandez as part of the defending champions, Argentina.
Marc Cucurella’s Spain will be looking to add to their 2024 European Championship win, while there will be a clash of Chelsea’s stars as Malo Gusto meets Nicolas Jackson and Mamadou Sarr in the group stages.
Chelsea are preparing for another big summer in the transfer window, and will no doubt be using the World Cup to determine who they can add to their squad for next season.
PREDICTION: Which Chelsea player do you think will have the BEST World Cup?👀
Mamadou Sarr is being slept on…
Let’s take a look at players who have been previously linked with a move to Stamford Bridge who are in action on day two.
Every Chelsea-linked player in action during World Cup Day Two
Julio Enciso – Paraguay
Paraguay face the tough task of facing hosts United States in their first game, and it is a race against time for key man Julio Enciso to be fit.
Enciso was injured in their final warm-up match, throwing his place in the side for their opening matches in real doubt.
He currently features for Strasbourg after joining last summer, with the Ligue 1 side also under the BlueCo ownership.
Enciso has been linked to Chelsea as a result of his move there, although it was made clear that he would not be promised an automatic pathway to Stamford Bridge as a result.

Ricardo Pepi – United States
Ricardo Pepi has 13 goals in 37 games for the United States national team, and found the net three times in five Champions League games last season.
Chelsea have been watching Pepi since 2024, with the 23-year-old forward one of his country’s most promising stars.
Pepi is also a Chelsea fan already, giving the Blues an advantage if they do look to move forward with him as a transfer target.
There will be changes to the striking department this summer, with Liam Delap failing to impress in his first season at the club.
Xabi Alonso has his SEVEN Chelsea ‘untouchables’ 👀
Do you agree with them?
Christian Pulisic and Mauricio Pochettino – USA
The golden boy of USA is Christian Pulisic, whose career has hit new heights since making the move away from Chelsea to join AC Milan.
He also boasts a very impressive record on the international stage, and has a former Blues manager leading him this summer.
Mauricio Pochettino has not returned to club management since he left Chelsea in 2024, although has the chance to bolster his credentials at the World Cup.
He will be facing serious pressure to deliver as he leads the hosts at the tournament though, in a group which looks like qualification should be an absolute minimum.
