Micah Richards has voiced his concern regarding a lack of composure in front of goal for Chelsea’s Nicolas Jackson.
Chelsea have kicked off this new season by starting Nicolas Jackson, the £32million (Evening Standard) summer signing from Villarreal.
The 22-year-old’s been the first-choice striker in the opening weeks of the campaign, so one goal in six games across all competitions is a somewhat disappointing return from him.
We definitely felt real positivity from the fanbase towards the Senegalese centre-forward in the early days, with his all-round play quite pleasing on the eye. The lack of goals is now starting to catch up with him, though.

Pundit Micah Richards admits Jackson’s end product is the big red flag against the Chelsea frontman.
“Chelsea are just lacking that killer instinct up front. Jackson does so many good things, and then it’s almost like he’s got no composure in front of goal, which is worrying,” Richards told The Rest Is Football.
“Jackson is good, but he’s just not clinical enough at this moment in time.”

Journalist Fabrizio Romano has recently reported on his Substack that Chelsea are still backing Jackson even after his challenging start to life in England.
The forward’s finishing really needs to sharpen up to help this struggling Blues side, but it’s not like anybody else in the squad is outperforming him in that regard.
One hope for supporters is the imminent return of Armando Broja.
A healthy competition between Jackson and Broja for the No.9 position could be exactly what the team needs right now.
