Glenn Murray thinks Brentford’s Ivan Toney would be the dream signing for Chelsea.

We’re likely to see Nicolas Jackson and Armando Broja, both 22, battle it out for the striker position at Stamford Bridge during the next few months.

However, many feel that the Blues still need to sign a high-profile centre-forward to consistently score goals at the top end of the pitch.

Sky Sports pundit Glenn Murray believes Ivan Toney is the perfect profile for what Chelsea need in attack.

“I’ve been a massive fan for a number of years now… I think he would fit perfectly at Chelsea,” Murray told Sky Sports.

“When people sit in, he’s got that physicality to rough people up. When you can’t break them down you put balls into the box and he’s got that aerial ability.”

We tend to agree that Brentford’s ace is such a complete striker when you consider he’s strong, quick and a great finisher.

Interestingly, Brentford’s talisman, who’s suspended from playing football until the New Year, is already linked as a transfer target for Chelsea.

TalkSPORT claimed earlier this month that Brentford have put a £60million price tag on Toney amid interest from Chelsea.

Meanwhile, journalist Simon Phillips reported via his Substack this week that Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino really wants to sign Toney and build the attack around him at Stamford Bridge.

We would 100 per cent be in favour of this transfer, especially if a £60million quoted price is feasible.

In the meantime, Jackson and Broja have just a few months before the January window to convince the club they already have a 20-goal striker sitting there in their ranks.
