Hudson-Odoi is by no stretch of the term a regular anymore at his boyhood club.
Tuchel’s arrival earlier this year forced the talented forward’s fall from grace.
Now something of a spare part around Stamford Bridge, the young attacker must make the most of every minute he is afforded.
Chelsea’s League Cup visit from Villa is the perfect opportunity for peripheral players like Hudson-Odoi to hand their manager a selection headache.
Blues fans ordered Tuchel to give the Englishman this chance, after he overlooked the youngster for the previous Premier League fixture.

If Hudson-Odoi starts midweek, it would only be the 20-year-old’s third appearance of the season.
He has been substituted twice in the 82nd minute, during the Super Cup final and against Villa in the league.
After defeating Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday, Tuchel is more than likely to reshuffle his pack entirely.
Overlooked names such as Ross Barkley, Malang Sarr and Ruben Loftus-Cheek may get a run-out.
As might first-teamers Timo Werner, Hakim Ziyech and Trevoh Chalobah.
Such is Chelsea’s strength in depth, whatever XI they field, it will be strong.
A potential front line of Werner, Ziyech and Hudson-Odoi would be useful at most sides across Europe.
Resting regulars will also be key, especially as Manchester City travel to South West London on the weekend for a mighty showdown between two of the title favourites.
