‘Wouldn’t be surprised’: Scott Minto names two academy graduates he thinks Chelsea could sell this summer

Scott Minto believes that Chelsea could get rid of both Callum Hudson-Odoi and Ruben Loftus-Cheek this summer.

The Blues struggled their way through the 2022/23 season with a massively oversized squad, so we’re part of the majority that want to see plenty of exits in the transfer window.

There’s definitely a need to add two or three quality individual to the starting line-up, but new manager Mauricio Pochettino needs a big hand from the club to reduce the overall group.

TalkSPORT pundit and former Chelsea player Minto is confident on two players that could lead the exodus.

Minto has suggested that Callum Hudson-Odoi and Ruben Loftus-Cheek, who are both academy graduates to come from Chelsea’s academy, could be sold in the months ahead.

“I think the likes of Callum Hudson-Odoi and Ruben Loftus-Cheek, along with others as well, I wouldn’t be surprised to see them go,” Minto told talkSPORT.

Loftus-Cheek did play 33 games across all competitions last season for the Blues. We didn’t see the 27-year-old midfielder really leave his mark, though.

As for Hudson-Odoi, the 22-year-old didn’t set the world alight during a loan spell with Bayer Leverkusen.

Both Cobham graduates are linked with moves away from Stamford Bridge.

Corriere dello Sport recently claimed that Chelsea need to sell Hudson-Odoi this summer amid interest from Lazio.

It’s hard to see a way back into the Blues first-team group for the winger, who’s suffered a real drop off in form during the past couple of years.

Meanwhile, The Telegraph reports that Chelsea are waiting to hear back from AC Milan about them potentially signing Loftus-Cheek.

The English midfielder’s versatility proved useful in recent months and he’s got talent, but he should now be somewhere he plays regular football.
