‘Another level’: Chelsea player claims Frank Lampard has improved him so much

Noni Madueke thinks his game has improved so much since working with Chelsea’s caretaker manager Frank Lampard.

The Blues wrapped up the 2022/23 season yesterday with a 1-1 home draw against Newcastle United, which was Lampard’s final game in charge as the interim boss.

Now, well-respected Fabrizio Romano claims on Twitter that Mauricio Pochettino will take charge as Chelsea’s new manager this week.

It’s been a very poor return to Stamford Bridge for Lampard, winning just one of his 11 games in charge during the final phase of the season.

However, Noni Madueke has been one of the shining lights during his tenure.

Speaking after Chelsea’s draw against Newcastle, Madueke has paid tribute to Lampard and his massive help during recent weeks.

The 21-year-old Blues winger has thrived with regular starts under Lampard. Let’s hope history repeats itself with Pochettino next season.

“I’ve enjoyed my six months so much. I’m blessed to play for Chelsea. That’s one thing I never take for granted,” Madueke said, as quoted by the club’s official website.

“I’ve been in the team for the last month and a half. The gaffer (Lampard) has shown great confidence in me. He has helped me a lot so I wish him all the best. He has probably taken my game to another level. I have a lot of levels I can get to and in time hopefully I will do that with the boys.”

Madueke has shown towards the back end of the season there’s a lot to be excited about with him.

The £29million right-winger is certainly not the finished article, but he’s got supporters off their seat with his directness and dribbling.

It sounds like Lampard has equally enjoyed working with the Blues youngster. Lampard said earlier this month Madueke has great talent and personality.
