Mason Mount has made a prediction on new Chelsea teammate Raheem Sterling by saying he expects him to be a leader in the dressing room at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea confirmed the signing of Sterling today from Manchester City on a five-year-deal, which is something that massively excited Blues co-owner Todd Boehly.
The 27-year-old left-winger has put pen to paper to start a new journey in his career.
Despite his age, the England star has already enjoyed so much success in both a Man City and Liverpool shirt.
Chelsea’s attack was a little blunt at times throughout the 2021/22 season, but they’ve now got a great goalscorer in Sterling that’s very proven in the Premier League.

New leader
Chelsea playmaker Mount, who plays alongside Sterling on the international stage with England, thinks his new club teammate can grow into a leader following his transfer.
“Definitely,” Mount responded when asked if Sterling could become a leader at the Bridge.
“He is coming in and will definitely be someone that is gonna lead and be a big presence and personality within the group. Hopefully we can win some things together.”
There’s so much to appreciate about Sterling for his quality on the pitch, so it won’t be a surprise to see him inspire others around him.
In particular, his knack for scoring goals regularly in the box is something the Blues squad need to improve on as a group.

More Mount on Sterling
The fact Sterling plays alongside several Chelsea players already at England should help to make his transition an easier one.
Mount has given even more of a glowing review on the club’s first official signing of the summer.
“He is a top player and I have learnt a lot off him over the last couple of years,” Mount told Sky Sports.
“For him to be joining us is only going to bring our levels higher. He is definitely someone who strives for high levels and win.
Let’s hope that Sterling can live up to the hype around his name.
