N’Golo Kante will now officially be leaving Chelsea this summer.

Saudi Arabian champions Al-Ittihad confirmed on Twitter last night that they are signing N’Golo Kante, who becomes the latest high-profile footballer to head to the Middle East. Incidentally, he’s about to link up and become teammates with Karim Benzema.

The 32-year-old star’s Blues contract at Stamford Bridge expires at the end of June, leaving him available to snap up on a free transfer.

However, he exits Chelsea as one of the club’s greatest ever midfielder.

Kante jumped on Instagram last night to confirm his imminent transfer to Al-Ittihad, too.

Chelsea defender Reece James, 23, delivered a four-word response in the post’s comment section.

“Good luck big bro,” James commented.

His message included a love heart and crying face emoji as well, which we think will perfectly sum up the general response from Chelsea supporters to the Kante transfer news.

He’s never been the loudest character on and off the pitch during his seven-year Chelsea spell, but there’s no doubting he led by example with his freakish talent.

Kante should be remembered as someone that made you look like you were playing with an extra person.

Our early prediction is that James is someone that can help replace the leadership traits of Kante.

We would love Chelsea to go out now and sort the deal to sign Brighton’s Moises Caicedo.

There’s nobody in the world that can replicate a prime Kante. However, 21-year-old Caicedo was outstanding last season as Brighton’s defensive midfielder.

We want the Blues to quickly bring Caicedo in and get him settled ahead of the new season.
