Kai Havertz has raved about Chelsea’s Graham Potter by describing him as a “very, very good coach”.
Potter took charge as the new Blues head coach last month, taking on the sizeable job of replacing the very popular Thomas Tuchel.
However, the Englishman has started really positively with six wins and three draws from his opening nine games across all competitions.
The 47-year-old took the step to by far the biggest managerial role of his career so far, so starting with a long unbeaten run will be massive for his confidence.

Potter a good coach
Havertz, who scored Chelsea’s winning goal in midweek to beat Red Bull Salzburg 2-1 in the Champions League group stages, has spoken very highly about the senior Blues man.
“I’ve only worked with him (Potter) for a few weeks, but he is a very, very good coach and time will tell how far we can go in the Champions League,” Havertz said.
It’s clear from the outside that Potter is a serious tactician. There’s proof in the different shapes he’s already tried out with this squad of players, plus some of his in-game management has been sharp.
Many questioned whether he could walk into a dressing room full of world stars and demand respect, but it looks like he’s silenced any doubters.
Soccer AM’s Tubes recently said a few Chelsea players have told him the training sessions have been “superb” since Potter arrived.

A lot of Blues supporters are enjoying this fresher approach from the club by appointing and putting faith in a coach less experienced at the elite level. Of course, Frank Lampard is the other anomaly in recent years, but he’s got club icon status.
Potter is managing his squad very successfully during a crazy fixture schedule, which continues in the next couple of weeks right up until the World Cup.
If the Blues stay unbeaten in the five games before the winter break, it would signify an amazing start.
Chelsea have some tasty league matches coming up against Brighton, Arsenal and Newcastle United. Also, they finish off their Champions League group against Dinamo Zagreba, as well as face Manchester City in the Carabao Cup.
