Frank Leboeuf suggests Leicester City defender Wesley Fofana could be a great transfer target for Chelsea this summer.

The Blues fanbase are desperate to see some defensive recruits join the club following the recent exits of centre-backs Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen.

For Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel, his options at the back currently look extremely thin ahead of the new season.

Leboeuf suggests Fofana for Chelsea

ESPN pundit and ex-Chelsea player Leboeuf reckons his former club should go raid Premier League rivals Leicester for their talented centre-half.

Fofana, 21, is a young defender that’s building quite a big reputation for himself at the King Power Stadium. In fact, it was reported earlier this month that Chelsea are “closely interested” in Fofana.

The £30million French centre-back is quick, strong in the air, and very composed in possession.

“Fofana from Leicester is an absolutely fantastic defender. That would be a fantastic option [for Chelsea]. I’m not sure Leicester would let him go, but he’s a great player,” Lebouef told ESPN.

Yes please

Fofana to Chelsea doesn’t quite have the same traction yet in the transfer rumour mill as some other deals, but perhaps it’s one the Blues should focus on.

Leicester have another absolute gem in their ranks that just looks destined to play at the top.

He’s overcome a long-term injury problem already at such a young age to rediscover some of his best form at the back end of last season.

Chelsea could find a centre-back solution for the next decade if they move for Fofana.
