TalkSPORT’s Simon Jordan has claimed that Todd Boehly’s ideas to host an All-star game in the Premier League are not necessary.
The American made the claim yesterday that England’s football pyramid could benefit from the special occasion, boasting the proceeds made from a two-day spectacle in the MLB.
Boehly pitched the idea that the profits made could filter down to where they were required down the pyramid, with the spectacle surely likely to make a lot of money.

It would be hard for any fan to pretend that they would not be excited by the prospect of what had always seemed just a fantasy matchup, with Chelsea fans in particular likely to see plenty of their players on show.
Jordan believes Boehly’s ideas not necessary
Jordan meanwhile believes the Premier League has the capabilities to become even bigger and more profitable by themselves, without the influence of Boehly or any of his ideas.
He said: “We’re talking about the most successful league in world football, that’s next evolution is to own its own rights. He’ll be behind a 39th game, do we need to take our show on tour? This American idea that American sports is a blueprint, well with due respect you can’t get the penetration of the NFL the way you think they will.

“I’m not entirely sure we need to hear Todd Boehly telling people that they need to change the format of the Premier League and that we need an All-star game.”
Boehly has no doubt been busy and proactive since becoming Chelsea owner, which should come as a positive to fans when they consider the fears that their new owner would be unattached from the club after Roman Abramovich’s sale.
This, combined with the biggest financial investment in one transfer window in history, should show exactly where his priorities lie.
