Stephen Warnock has explained how Chelsea’s Mykhailo Mudryk makes running fast look effortless.

Mudryk, 22, enjoyed a decent return to the Blues side at the weekend.

The attacker assisted and impressed in a 3-1 away win for Graham Potter’s side at Leicester City.

He’s had to be patient in the opening couple of months at Stamford Bridge, but Saturday’s performance was an insight into what he gives as a forward threat.

Sky Sports pundit Warnock delivered a positive verdict on Mudryk’s latest Premier League display.

In particular, he can’t believe how quick the Ukraine international actually is.

“I don’t think he’s at the level that we know he can potentially reach,” Warnock told Sky Sports.

“At Shakhtar Donetsk he played around 30-odd games, so when you think of that he’s still relatively new to the game at the top level.

“[Potter] moved him into a central role [against Leicester] and it allowed Mudryk to get plenty of space.

“What he did time and time again was set off straight away. The speed in which he covers the ground is breathtaking. He doesn’t even look like he’s trying. You talk about players gliding across the ground.”

Mudryk produced the kind of performance against Leicester which should encourage Chelsea supporters moving forward.

He’s still a youngster who has a lot of development and learning to do, but you can’t really teach his pace and explosiveness.

Described as “dangerous” by Paul Merson at the weekend, Mudryk is the kind of forward that opposition defences will be very wary of facing.
