Mario Melchiot has suggested that Chelsea should go all out and try to sign Napoli’s Victor Osimhen.
Osimhen, who’s aged 24, has been one of the most in-form strikers around this season.
The centre-forward has scored 18 goals in just 22 Napoli games so far this campaign across all competitions, playing a key role for a team that is storming clear at the top of the Serie A table.
On paper, the powerhouse frontman looks built for Premier League football with his strength and pace. However, it seems like he’s having the time of his life in Naples right now.

Victor Osimhen suggestion
Mario Melchiot, who’s an ESPN pundit and former Chelsea player, has suggested his old club consider targeting Osimhen.
“Osimhen, he could be expensive like crazy, but we (Chelsea) have to go after someone that can deliver the goals, because if we don’t, we have a great team with great names, but nobody produces the goals,” Melchiot told ESPN.
The young striker has scored goals in Belgium, France and now Italy during his club career so far. However, that won’t guarantee automatic success in the English Premier League.
You can fully understand why Osimhen looks like one of the most attractive forwards to target right now, though.

Chelsea links
There is recent transfer speculation that suggests Chelsea could be after Napoli’s talisman in attack.
90min claimed earlier this month that Chelsea consider Osimhen to be their main target in the striker position. They’re not put off by Napoli’s mammoth €150million (£133million) price tag, too.
There’s such a long line of failed strikers when you look at the Blues record in the 21st century, with only two or three big exceptions to that trend.
Osimhen is the type of addition that would bring initial excitement, but is it even feasible without Champions League football next season?
