Jamie O’Hara claims that Chelsea’s Thiago Silva would get into Arsenal’s starting line-up.

Silva, who’s now 38, continues to be one of the very best defenders in the Premier League.

The £110,000-a-week veteran centre-back continues to show incredibly high levels of fitness, playing 15 games across all competitions so far this season.

He keeps putting in top-class performances in the heart of Chelsea’s defence, which has had to deal with several injury setbacks in the past couple of months.

Silva would get into Arsenal’s line-up

TalkSPORT pundit O’Hara has been discussing how many Chelsea players would get into the Arsenal XI ahead of this Sunday’s Premier League clash between them.

He’s confident that Brazil star Silva would replace Gabriel Magalhaes in Arsenal’s defence. There is a special mention for injured Blues full-back Reece James, too.

“Does any Chelsea player even get in this [Arsenal] side? For me, Thiago Silva is the only player that gets in the side. Gabriel I’d take out… Reece James isn’t fit, so if James is fit, he’s in the team,” O’Hara told talkSPORT.

Silva continues to shine in Chelsea’s XI on a weekly basis, which is just remarkable when you consider he’s in his late-thirties.

Journalist Simon Phillips recently reported that Silva will soon make a decision on his future and is open to staying at Stamford Bridge.

If the South American feels confident enough in his own body, another one-year contract extension feels like a no-brainer.

He brings so much to Chelsea both on and off the pitch, making the decision to sign him back in 2020 one of the best from the club in a long time.
