His loan spell at Southampton has so far been a great success.

He is Ralph Hasenhuttl’s leading scorer with six across all competitions and has four goals in his last half a dozen Premier League starts.

This makes him the leading marksmen for players aged 20 or under in the top flight alongside Manchester United’s Mason Greenwood.

Not bad company to be in, considering this is Broja’s debut campaign in England’s highest division.

The Saints centre-forward added another delightful strike to his CV against Crystal Palace on Wednesday that had both sets of supporters sit up and notice.

Not to mention those of a Chelsea persuasion, who are extremely keen to reclaim their young prodigy at the next available opportunity.

In light of the Albanian’s latest net rippler, Cole insisted this level of quality has always been stored inside.

“This lad here, I’ve worked with Broja in the youth team. He’s an outstanding talent,” said the former Blues winger.

“He’s put his game together and is a great lad.”

Blues missing Broja

Right now, Chelsea could do with an inform striker like Broja in their ranks.

Last night’s 1-1 draw at home to Everton highlighted the offensive insufficiencies Thomas Tuchel is dealing with.

Chances wasted; opportunities missed.

Openings that Broja has so far snapped up without hesitation.

If Chelsea become desperate, there is an option to recall the attacker in January, yet Southampton are unlikely to relinquish their man main at the moment.

Tuchel will probably have to wait until the summer to get his hands on the Saint from the south coast.
