Sky Sports pundit Michael Dawson claims Chelsea talent Wesley Fofana will only get better under the club’s new head coach Graham Potter.

The Blues are set for yet another fresh transition in the coming weeks, with 47-year-old Potter adapting to his new role as Chelsea boss.

He’s been announced as Thomas Tuchel’s successor in the manager’s dugout at Stamford Bridge, leaving Premier League rivals Brighton to take on his first job at a European giant.

Hopefully, the English coach can bring the same kind of qualities that made Brighton so enjoyable to watch in recent seasons.

He’s worked with and improved some great players in Brighton colours, but he arrives into a Chelsea dressing room stacked with top-class talents that need a push to reach their very best.

Fofana under Potter

In particular, pundit Dawson has named Chelsea centre-back Fofana as a player whose future he’s really excited for moving forward.

He thinks the 21-year-old star, who joined from Leicester City in the summer, could really thrive with Potter.

“Wesley Fofana coming in is a great signing,” Dawson said.

“He’s only going to get better with time and Graham Potter is only going to improve him.”

Potter’s tactical ability means he’s flexible in his system, so it’s good news that Fofana can play comfortably in either a back four or a back three.

The French youngster is clearly someone the club have massive hopes for after splashing £70million to get him.

Tipped for a “massive future” by teammate Ben Chilwell, Fofana’s first aim has to be to get into Potter’s best starting line-up. It’s going to be interesting to see which personnel catch the manager’s eye straight away.

He’s impressed the fanbase during his two Blues appearances so far, but it’s a fresh start again for him and all his teammates.
