‘What’s happened to him?’: TalkSPORT pundit says 31-year-old has got so much worse ever since he left Chelsea

TalkSPORT pundit Ray Parlour has claimed that Eden Hazard has got so much worse since he left Chelsea.

The Belgian was arguably the greatest player in the Premier League during his tenure at Stamford Bridge.

However, it is safe to say that his career has fallen off a cliff since he said his emotional goodbyes.

Perhaps the biggest indicator of this fall from grace was on show at this winter’s World Cup, with Hazard representing Belgium as the captina.

In the ‘golden generation’s’ last dance, they crashed and burned drastically. Yesterday’s draw against Croatia saw them dumped out in the group stages.

While they may be cursing the brilliance of Chelsea target Josko Gvardiol, they perhaps may have to look a bit closer to home for their exit reason.

Parlour criticises Hazard’s career

Blues loanee Romelu Lukaku missed a handful of big chances to put the game away after his half-time introduction.

Hazard was given even less time to make an impact – just a few minutes despite being the captain of the national side.

Parlour was pretty scathing in his views on what has happened to the career of the 31-year-old in the last couple of years.

He said: “Hazard – What’s happened to Hazard? I don’t know what’s happened to him. It’s interesting because during the break we were having a conversation with Jose Mourinho, and he said ‘Hazard could’ve been one of the best in the world, but his application, his work-rate, his training’ – he didn’t put it in every single day.”

Rumours of a return to Stamford Bridge have surrounded Hazard pretty much since he left for Madrid in 2019.

However, the player himself admitted in an interview just before the tournament that he was unsure why these rumours continued to float around.
