Kai Havertz has now asked Chelsea to sell him as the German wants to take on a new challenge away from Stamford Bridge.

That is according to the Guardian.

However, Chelsea risk angering Kai Havertz with their valuation.

What’s the story?

Well, the Guardian add that Chelsea want £75m for the 23-year-old this summer with Real Madrid and Bayern Munich keen on his signature.

The Blues are willing to sell Havertz as it becomes clear he is unlikely to sign a new contract.

Chelsea’s No.29 currently has a deal running until June 2025 – Todd Boehly is keen to avoid letting those at Stamford Bridge enter the final 12 months of their respective contracts, so a sale is likely.

A claim from Sport1 in Germany stated that Havertz has been thinking about leaving Chelsea for a while now, having grown frustrated at the ‘constant unrest’ at Stamford Bridge.

The £150,000-a-week man appeared to let his unhappiness at Chelsea take over during the 2022/23 season, as he scored just seven goals in 35 Premier League appearances.

In our view, that poor goalscoring return is likely to make Real Madrid hesitant about paying £75m for Havertz.

Enzo Fernandez will be sad to see Kai Havertz leave Chelsea

One player who will surely be upset to see Havertz leave is Enzo Fernandez.

The Argentina international revealed that Joao Felix and the Germany international were two players he had struck up a strong connection with, on and off the pitch.

Fernandez is quoted by UEFA as saying: “As time goes by, we start getting to know our teammates better and it will get better with time. Have I struck up a connection with Kai Havertz and Joao Felix? We do have this connection, away from the pitch as well.”

Felix has already left Chelsea and is not expected to return on a permanent basis, so if Havertz departs as well, Fernandez will lose both of those who helped him settle at Stamford Bridge.
