Mauricio Pochettino and Todd Boehly have now been told that Kai Havertz would love to leave Chelsea this summer.
That is according to Mundo Deportivo.
If talk of Kai Havertz wanting to leave is true, it comes as a blow to Mauricio Pochettino and Todd Boehly based on what the pair allegedly think of the 23-year-old.
What’s the story?
Well – according to Simon Phillips – Pochettino admires Havertz, and would like to work with the Germany international at Stamford Bridge.
A story from the Evening Standard also claimed that Boehly is a fan of the Chelsea No.29 and wants to tie him down to a new contract.
However, the departure of Karim Benzema – who is leaving Real Madrid for Saudi Arabia – has plunged the future of Havertz in doubt, after the Spanish giants shortlisted him as a potential replacement for the Ballon d’Or winner.
Now, Mundo Deportivo have shed some light on how the German feels about the speculation.

The Spanish news outlet believe Havertz would be open to replacing Benzema at Real Madrid, as he is not happy at Chelsea – it is even said that he would love to leave Stamford Bridge.
Mundo Deportivo add that Chelsea value the Aachen-born forward at €60m (£52m).
Chelsea should let Havertz leave
In our view, Pochettino shouldn’t try too hard to keep Havertz at Stamford Bridge if Real Madrid submit a respectable bid.
While the German is a talented footballer, it just hasn’t worked out for him in west London – seven goals in 35 Premier League appearances during the 2022/23 campaign is an example of that.
There would be little point in Chelsea keeping an unhappy player at a time where Pochettino really needs all hands on deck next season, as the Blues attempt to turn around a dreadful season.
If the sale of Havertz helps fund a deal for an out-and-out No.9 like Victor Osimhen or Dusan Vlahovic, Chelsea should certainly do business with Real Madrid.
