Well – according to The Times – Chelsea are expected to register interest in the France international after it became clear he would not actually be signing a contract extension in Paris.

Many expected Mbappe to stay with PSG until 2025 – now, however, the striker will leave for nothing in 2024 unless the Parisians cash in on him this summer.

Real Madrid are mentioned by the majority of news outlets as the 24-year-old’s most likely destination.

However – according to iNews – a move to the Premier League appeals to Mbappe.

It is said that the Bondy-born forward has no interest in joining Manchester City and playing alongside Erling Haaland, but a move to another English giant, where he would compete against the Norway international, is something he wouldn’t mind experiencing.

What Pochettino has said about Mbappe before as Chelsea lurk

Chelsea could have a trump card over their rivals in the race to sign Mbappe – Mauricio Pochettino.

The Argentine seemed to strike up a strong relationship with the Frenchman at PSG, with the striker often running to the South American for his goal celebrations, leaping into his arms.

Pochettino described Mbappe as a “great talent” when speaking to CBS Sports, and in total, the £166m man scored 67 goals in 75 appearances under the 51-year-old’s guidance, which is a phenomenal record, to say the least.

It would be a huge shock if Mbappe chose Chelsea given the fact there is no European football at Stamford Bridge next season, but with Pochettino at the helm, anything could happen.
