Chelsea are the preferred destination for one in-demand forward ahead of the summer transfer window.

Chelsea are the club who Napoli’s Victor Osimhen wants to join, partly because his idol is Didier Drogba, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

However, the Italian outlet has also claimed that the Blues’ lack of Champions League football could be a problem.

Chelsea are almost certain to miss out on Europe’s elite competition, with Mauricio Pochettino‘s men currently sitting 10th in the Premier League table.

However, with the club still in the Carabao Cup, FA Cup and not too far from seventh, it is not impossible that they qualify for some form of European football.

Chelsea Victor Osimhen’s preferred destination

Osimhen has already made it clear that he wants to play in the Premier League one day.

Chelsea are one of the biggest clubs in the division and were once home of one of the greatest African footballers of all time in Drogba. With that in mind, then, it is not a shock to hear that Osimhen is keen to move to Stamford Bridge.

However, it looks like the Blues are going to face firm competition from Paris Saint-Germain as Kylian Mbappe edges closer to the exit door at the Parc des Princes.

According to The Athletic, Osimhen is on PSG’s shortlist after the French club were informed by Mbappe that he plans to leave Luis Enrique’s side at the end of the season.

PSG can match Chelsea when it comes to finances and will also be able to offer Osimhen Champions League football.

However, what the Blues do have is Premier League football and Drogba’s legacy, which seem to appeal to the 25-year-old. If it is a straight shoot-out between Chelsea and PSG, we are confident that the former can come out on top, even without being able to offer him game time in the Champions League.
