Ahead of the new Premier League season, Chelsea and Enzo Maresca are not making any promises to players.
It has already been claimed that Djordje Petrovic will not be staying at Chelsea after he demanded to be named first-choice goalkeeper.
The 25-year-old is not the only Chelsea player who is looking for guarantees going into the 2025/26 campaign.
However, these requests to be automatic starters appear to be falling on deaf ears.

Chelsea refuse to guarantee Renato Veiga minutes at centre-back
Chelsea loaned out Renato Veiga to Juventus for the second half of last season, and the Portuguese was used in central defence.
It looks like Veiga wants to continue playing there at Chelsea, but the Blues are refusing to make any promises.
According to talkSPORT, the Conference League winners cannot guarantee him minutes in central defence and he could now be sold as a result.
At present, Levi Colwill, Wesley Fofana, Tosin Adarabioyo, Trevoh Chalobah and Benoit Badiashile are the centre-back options in Chelsea’s first team.
The Blues could add to that roster by bringing in another centre-half this summer. It is thought that Chelsea have an interest in Ousmane Diomande, for example. It is not a shock to hear, then, that the club are not promising Veiga anything.

How Renato Veiga could actually solve two Chelsea concerns
While Chelsea selling Veiga for £30m is a possibility, all things considered, it may be worth keeping him around.
Fofana constantly picks up injuries, while the club are in the market for a central defender. Simply put, it makes sense to just retain Veiga.
The Portugal international wants to play in central defence and can also be used at left-back, meaning that he can cover Marc Cucurella.
| Positions Renato Veiga has played | Number of games |
| Defensive midfielder | 44 |
| Central midfielder | 8 |
| Centre-back | 30 |
| Left-back | 19 |
Because of his and Ben Chilwell’s respective loans last term, Chelsea finished the season with Cucurella being the only natural left-back in Maresca’s squad. If people at the club use their brains, Chelsea can solve two issues without spending a single penny.
