Chelsea’s Mateo Kovacic will undergo a medical on Friday ahead of his imminent transfer to Manchester City.
That is according journalist Jacob Steinberg.
The Guardian reporter has claimed this morning that Mateo Kovacic will have his medical today.
Steinberg wrote on Twitter: “Mateo Kovacic is due to have a medical today before joining Manchester City from Chelsea.”

Kovacic, 29, appears to be on the brink of joining Pep Guardiola’s Man City side, who won a historic treble last season.
Well-respected journalist Fabrizio Romano reported earlier this week that Chelsea and Man City have reached an agreement over a £30million transfer fee for Kovacic.
Now, the Croatia international will complete a medical before the deal is official.
The central midfielder will be walking into a dressing room at the Etihad Stadium stacked with talent, but he’s proven over many years just how good he can be.
His form has been up and down at times in Chelsea colours. He’s a fantastic ball carrier and dynamic midfielder when he’s in the mood, though.
It’s going to be interesting to see how the Blues go about filling a Kovacic-sized hole next season.

The Telegraph has explained this week that Chelsea insiders believe that Kovacic’s sale to Man City this summer is great business.
We agree that a £30million sum for a player entering the final year of his contract is a decent return, but it leaves Mauricio Pochettino with a huge job to rebuild his midfield.
