Fabrizio Romano has now claimed that Inter Milan have made Chelsea defender Kalidou Koulibaly their number one target to sign this summer.

He took to Twitter to state that a meeting is set to take place in the coming days to discuss numerous topics, including the future of the 31-year-old.

It was a tough first campaign in England for Koulibaly after bringing much promise following a number of imperious seasons at Napoli.

The Blues believed they had secured a steal in the signing for £33m last summer, however he has failed to establish himself as a must-start going into next season under Mauricio Pochettino.

Now, it seems they could be about to be handed a lifeline if they are wanting to get some money back for their addition, with Romano claiming that Inter are very interested in bringing him in.

Inter Milan really want Koulibaly

He said: “Chelsea and Inter are set to schedule a meeting in the next days, as called yesterday.

“Understand Inter will ask about Kalidou Koulibaly as priority target. Romelu Lukaku’s future, main topic; but Trevoh Chalobah for Inter, André Onana for Chelsea will be also discussed.”

The Serie A side are looking to pick themselves back up after suffering defeat in the Champions League final at the weekend.

It was a tough outing for loanee Lukaku, who missed a massive chance late on to take the game to extra time.

The Belgian will be hoping that conversations between the two teams go well in the coming days, with him reportedly desperate to remain in Italy.

However, it has already been claimed that Pochettino is looking to have a conversation with the club about potentially bringing him back into the fold for next season.
