£52m Chelsea star discusses if he could be about to join PSG

Enzo Maresca has a lot of quality in his Chelsea squad at present, especially in attack.

Right now, Enzo Maresca can call upon the likes of Cole Palmer, Christopher Nkunku, Jadon Sancho and Nicolas Jackson.

It would not be a surprise, then, if other elite European clubs, such as Paris Saint-Germain, tried to raid Chelsea in the near future.

It will be extremely hard to get Palmer out of Stamford Bridge, though, with the attacking midfielder recently signing a contract extension until 2033. The English media weren’t too impressed with Palmer‘s latest outing for England.

Christopher Nkunku not set for PSG return

Before moves to Chelsea and RB Leipzig, Nkunku played for PSG. There, the forward made just under 80 appearances.

Nkunku has described the Ligue 1 champions as a “big club” but says he has not been approached about a return to the Parc des Princes.

Asked about a PSG homecoming in an interview with Telefoot, the 26-year-old said: “PSG remains a big club, but there has not been one approach.”

The French media gave Nkunku good reviews following his display for France in their 4-1 win against Israel last Thursday.

Should Christopher Nkunku consider quitting Chelsea for PSG?

Right now, Nkunku is not a starter at Chelsea. Maresca prefers Jackson in the striker position, while there is no chance of the Frenchman starting in the No.10 role ahead of Palmer.

His opportunities have been limited so far this season, but when Nkunku has played, he has rarely disappointed.

Nkunku, whom Chelsea signed from Leipzig for £52m, has already scored seven goals in all competitions.

It shows how effective the France international can be when he is on the pitch and that he is ultimately probably too good to be a bench player.

Therefore, if his situation does not change and PSG come knocking, a return to his former club is something worth considering.

However, Nkunku is a great option for Chelsea to have in their squad and is probably someone whom they do not want to lose.
