Al-Ittihad’s offer to Kepa Arrizabalaga
Kepa wants to join Real Madrid, but with Thibaut Courtois and Andriy Lunin there, a move to Carlo Ancelotti’s side is not really a viable option.
A switch to Saudi Arabia, though, looks possible after the 29-year-old attracted strong interest from Al-Ittihad earlier in the transfer window.
According to GiveMeSport, Al-Ittihad made an offer to Kepa but a deal fell through in July after Loay Nazer resigned as club president.
With a move to Real Madrid now unlikely, perhaps Al-Ittihad could revisit things or maybe another Saudi Pro League club could make their own offer to Kepa.
Ancelotti has a lot of respect for Kepa, but the Italian does not have room for him in his dressing room at this moment in time.
Kepa Arrizabalaga should consider Saudi Arabia move
If Real Madrid or another European club do not come for Kepa, then the Spaniard has to explore the Saudi Arabia option.
What he cannot afford to do is get stuck at Chelsea, as there is no chance of Enzo Maresca playing him.
The Chelsea manager already has four goalkeepers in his squad after the signing of Filip Jorgensen from Villarreal.
It will not be his preference, Real Madrid clearly are. But unless Lunin departs, the £71m Spain international will not be returning to the Santiago Bernabeu this summer.
