Thomas Tuchel could now beat Mauricio Pochettino to his No.1 striker target at Chelsea as Bayern Munich eye Victor Osimhen and Dusan Vlahovic.

Herbert Hainer – President of Bayern Munich – named the pair when speaking to Corriere dello Sport about transfer plans.

So, what was said about Chelsea targets Victor Osimhen and Dusan Vlahovic? Let’s take a look…

What’s the story?

Well, it was 90min who claimed that Osimhen is Pochettino’s No.1 striker target as the Argentine aims to bring a quality No.9 to Stamford Bridge.

Elsewhere – according to Gazzetta dello Sport – Chelsea held a meeting with Juventus about Vlahovic.

Now – while Bayern Munich are still deciding which striker to pursue – Hainer has confirmed that the German giants have €100m (£86m) to spend on a new frontman, meaning Tuchel could beat Pochettino to one of his primary targets.

The 68-year-old told Corriere dello Sport: “There aren’t many strikers who can play at this level. That’s why the same names are always mentioned and the competition is fierce for them. As a striker costs a lot, we have to make sure he fits in well at Bayern. The same names are mentioned in the media: Randal Kolo Muani, Harry Kane, Victor Osimhen, and Dusan Vlahovic? We are looking closely at them to see who suits Bayern best.

“Bayern is able to spend €100m (£86m).”

Clearly, the Bundesliga champions are keen to find a proper replacement for Robert Lewandowski this summer, after failing to replicate his impact with the signing of Sadio Mane.

Chelsea must decide on Osimhen and Vlahovic quickly

As Hainer states, there aren’t many quality strikers on the market this summer.

Therefore – while Bayern Munich ponder over who they will bid for – Chelsea need to make up their mind quickly and launch a bid.

The Blues seem to be focusing on midfield reinforcements right now with Moises Caicedo in Pochettino’s sights, after initially making a move for Manuel Ugarte.

However – if it is possible – we feel Chelsea need to start going on the offensive to sign a new striker as well, in case other European giants hoover up the best options.
