Moises Caicedo and his agent are now pushing very hard to finalise a move from Brighton to Chelsea – they want a deal done as soon as possible.
That is according to Tutto Mercato Web.
So, what is the latest on Chelsea and Moises Caicedo? Let’s take a look…
What’s the story?
Well – as detailed by The Athletic – Chelsea saw a £70m bid rejected for the Ecuador international on Tuesday.
A story from The Times claims that Chelsea and Brighton will hold fresh talks about Caicedo in the United States before Saturday’s pre-season clash between the Blues and the Seagulls.
However – by the sounds of it – the South American himself is getting quite agitated.
The Daily Mail believe Caicedo was promised a move this summer if another offer in the region of £70m was made, after Brighton denied him a switch to Arsenal for a similar fee in January.

Brighton – however – are now rethinking that stance after seeing Declan Rice move for £105m, which has left the 21-year-old, who Adam Lallana called an “incredible” footballer, quite frustrated.
Tutto Mercato Web believe Caicedo and his agent are now doing everything they can on their end to force through a move to Stamford Bridge – the Brighton No.25 has already agreed a contract with Chelsea.
Brighton are wrong to change their stance as Chelsea target Caicedo
If what the Daily Mail are reporting is true, then it is very poor from Brighton.
The Seagulls made Caicedo a promise, something that the reliable Fabrizio Romano has backed up when speaking about a gentleman’s agreement between Roberto De Zerbi and the midfielder.
Just because Arsenal wanted to spend £105m on Rice doesn’t mean Brighton are allowed to go back on their word.

Of course, Caicedo probably is worth around £100m if Rice is going for £105m, although Brighton set their stall out when telling the £60,000-a-week man he could leave if a bid in the region of £70m was made, and it’s wrong to retract that promise.
Be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as talks between Chelsea and Brighton continue.
