Agent says eight-assist defender is leaving current club amid reported Chelsea interest
Achraf Hakimi’s agent Alejandro Camano has confirmed that his client is close to leaving Inter Milan amid reported interest from Chelsea and several other clubs.
Camano initially spoke about Lautaro Martinez, whom he also represents, and his future at Inter.
“I think Inter are in a very strong position with Lautaro because they consider that winning the league, being a goalscorer. For all that, they want him to stay,” the agent told Radio Colonia’s Como Te Va.
“The only one who is going to leave Inter for now is Hakimi who I also represent.
“We have to work on the Lautaro issue but there is still no clear situation.”
Chelsea have been linked to both Martinez and Hakimi this summer, but as the agent suggested, the latter could be a more realistic option at the moment.
According to the report from The Telegraph, the Blues have been in the race for Hakimi for several months already now.
Last week, Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio claimed Chelsea have already submitted a €60million (£51.6m) bid for the Morocco international.
Not only that, Chelsea are reportedly ready to offer a couple of players; Emerson Palmieri and Andreas Christensen, in a potential swap deal for the 22-year-old.
Chelsea, however, are not the only club in the race for Hakimi.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano claims Chelsea have been in contact with Hakimi’s agent, but Paris Saint-Germain remain interested in the defender.
