Barcelona are now trying to sign Joao Felix – just weeks after Chelsea let him go back to Atlético Madrid.

That is according to SPORT in Spain.

So, what is the latest on Joao Felix after he left Chelsea? Let’s take a look…

What’s the story?

Well – according to the Evening Standard – Chelsea were put off by Atlético Madrid’s £88m valuation of the Portugal international, and also had no interest in another loan deal at a cost of £16m.

As a result, Felix has found himself in limbo, with no other club making a genuine push for his signature.

The 23-year-old was banished from training under Diego Simeone, and his bleak situation even led to the £113m man telling Fabrizio Romano that he would love to join Barcelona.

Atlético Madrid fans were not too happy about that, as they vandalised Felix’s plaque outside of the Wanda Metropolitano.

Now – however – the Portuguese forward’s interview with Romano may have worked.

SPORT believe Barcelona are now exploring a deal for Felix – who Unai Emery called a “special player” – as Ousmane Dembele prepares to join PSG.

The Spanish news outlet believe an initial loan with the choice to make the deal permanent next summer is an option for Barcelona, who know that Atlético Madrid want to offload their club-record signing.

Chelsea have firmly moved on from Joao Felix as Barcelona make move

By the looks of it, Chelsea have totally moved on from Felix.

Mauricio Pochettino has already signed Nicolas Jackson to replace the Portugal international, while Christopher Nkunku has arrived at Stamford Bridge as well.

According to the Daily Mail, Chelsea are also attempting to sign Juventus No.9 Dusan Vlahovic in a player-plus-cash deal involving Romelu Lukaku.

SPORT added that Jorge Mendes has been offering Felix around Europe all summer, so if Chelsea haven’t already made a move to re-sign him, we doubt one will come.

Hopefully, Felix can find himself a new club, and start to fulfil his vast potential.
