Barcelona president Joan Laporta has provided an update on Ousmane Dembele’s situation amid Chelsea’s rumoured interest.
It is pretty clear at this point that the Spanish club is looking to sell the 24-year-old before the end of his contract in the summer.
They offered Dembele an extension on reduced wages which was unsurprisingly turned down.
Laporta, who described Dembele’s situation as “complicated”, suggested the winger could move to Premier League on the deadline day.

“Ousmane Dembele? Various solutions have been proposed,” the Barcelona chief told Mundo Deportivo (via Fabrizio Romano).
“The last one depends on whether the player accepts it — it is to go to an English club.
“We are looking for the best solution for Barça and for the player.”
Was Laporta referring to Chelsea? It seems likely given Sky Sports recently reported that Chelsea are in pole position to sign Dembele.

Sky Sports also mentioned that Dembele’s high wages, which according to their reporter Gary Cotterill is around £200,000-a-week, could prove to be an obstacle for the Blues.
The figure would put the France international among top earners at Stamford Bridge.
